BEEF, TOMATO AND EGG WITH RICE THE CHINESE WAY

This dish is a really simple healthy, hearty meal for dinner or lunch, it is full of flavor and also provides  vitamins, proteins and necessary carbs for a filling dinner.
 It is very popular in chinese culture, and often costs around HK$50 - 70, but when you eat out, you have to take into consideration that alot of restaurants will soak the meat in bi-carb soda, add too much salt, as well as adding thickeners to the eggs, to make you think you are getting more then what it really is. That's why a nice home cook meal is always more delicious and healthy! Takes around 20mins to make and its super easy and uses only a few ingredients!

300g Beef round eye steak { Sliced }
5 Tomatoes { Roughly Sliced or quartered }
6 beaten Eggs 
1 and a half cups of Rice
2 tsp sugar
1 tsp Salt 

MARINADE

1 tsp Sugar 
1 tsp White pepper
1 tbsp Corn Flour
Light Soy Sauce ( enough to cover meat)

1. Slice beef into thin pieces.
2. Marinate with light soya sauce, 1 tsp sugar, white pepper and corn flour. Soak for 30 mins.
3.Stir fry the beef with oil, put aside to let the beef rest.
4. Stir fry the sliced tomato with salt and sugar and let it cook for 30 mins, until all the tomatoes become soft and into a thick sauce.
5. On another non stick pan, cook the eggs like an omelette style.
6. Cut the egg into smaller pieces with your turner then mix into the ready tomato sauce. 
7.Add the beef into the sauce.
8. Ready to go!  Serve with rice!

CHINESE TRANSLATION

港式蕃茄牛肉旦飯. (兩人份)
材料: 牛柳300克,蕃茄5個,旦6只 (拂均勻), 米11\2杯。
稠味: 糖3茶匙,古月粉1茶匙,粟粉1湯匙,
生抽(平均都能沾勻牛肉便可), 鹽1茶匙。
做法: 1)牛柳切片。
2)牛柳片用稠味料醃30分鐘便可。
3)燒熱鑊下油,大火爆炒牛肉至��色。盛起備用。
4)蕃茄切條,下鹽及糖稠味,炒煮30分鐘至軟及汁濃。
5)用另一易潔鑊,把已拂勻之旦汁煎成旦餅。
6)用鑊摌邊炒邊切成小長塊,倒入蕃茄汁同煮。
7)再加入牛肉兜勻。
8)拌以白飯,上桌供食。

  1. The marinade list is poorly written. You should put "sliced" next to the tomatoes, "separated" next to sugar, and consider listing salt seperately since it is clearly not part of the marninade.

  2. HEY there ANONYMOUS! Thank you for your constructive criticism, I will take you suggestion in mind and update my blog, as you will notice my newer posts are very detailed , sorry I have not had the time to go back to my old posts to update it ! But now that you mention it I will change it !! Maybe next time you could post as your name instead of anonymous so I can send you some of my newer postings! Hope you enjoy my newer things!
